This is a multiple day trip covering the entire Alsea River from near the town of Alsea to the ocean at Waldport. We have reservations for both the yurt and the cabin at Salmonberry Campground. Update 4/20: Salmonberry ramp will be closed in early May. It's unclear if we'll be able to take out there regardless. The first two days were to begin or end at Salmonberry. We may need to use Missouri Bend. Trip lengths still vary from 7 to 11 miles. Various sections are moving water, Class 1/2, and the final day is on tidal flatwater, so there's something for everybody. Days 1 and 2 are moving water. Day 3 is Class 1/2. Day 4 is slower moving water ending near Tidewater. Day 5 is Tidewater to the ocean. Anyone can come for the entire trip or any duration of interest. Since early May is near the end of the spring paddling season for this river, we have booked the yurt and cabin for alternate dates, May 16 to May 19. Email for details. As of 4/20, this early spring has meant much less rain than normal. I'll monitor the situation and communicate with the members who have registered. I've posted the expected sequence of river sections. Individuals can sign up for various day trips.
